AromaScan currently produce a laboratory based instrument capable of discriminating between various odours. The main aim of this project is to develop a new product that is both portable and provides improved sensing capabilities.
An initial prototype will use similar
technology to that utilised in Handheld computers and will run a
version of the Microsoft 'Windows CE' operating system. This will
allow the existing algorithms written for the PC based (Visual
C++) software to be ported to the new instrument.
